Joep graduated from Eindhoven University of Technology in Architecture, Building and Planning in 2007. This combination is ideally suited to the firm’s vision and his activities as an architect. His graduation project, in which he combined the renovation of an old brick factory with the issue of more space for rivers, was nominated for the Archiprix. After graduating Joep joined BiermanHenket in 2008 and in 2019 he became an associate partner.
Within the firm, Joep carried out cultural-historical and architectural-historical studies for a number of projects. His interest in architectural history is reflected in his position on the board of the Docomomo Nederland Foundation and in his participation in the Building Authority for Gemert-Bakel local council, where he advises on the conservation and maintenance of religious heritage.
