Design for the Beurs van Berlage entrance area
Bierman Henket architecten has designed a new entrance area as the first phase in the transformation of the Beurs van Berlage into a Palazzo Pubblico. The cramped and rather uninviting entrance on Damrak will be converted into an open, light and welcoming entrance to the exchange building. Renovation of the entrance hall, improvements to the routing and new design elements are the most important design assignments in the transformation of the entrance area.
Established in 2008, the Beurs van Berlage CV's aim is to turn the exchange building into an important social and cultural facility: a Palazzo Pubblico. A master plan has been developed for the transformation. The conversion of the entrance area forms the first phase in this plan.
